Hey r/loseit fam bam! Today’s an exciting day for me and I wanted to share it with y’all. 😀
I’ll start off with links to my previous posts in reverse chronological order:

I started losing weight on Aug 8, 2017 at 174.4 lbs, although that wasn’t actually my first start date nor my highest recorded weight. I lost a significant amount of weight in 2010, then again in 2013, always bouncing between a low of 140 and, at my very highest, I saw 180.5 lbs on the scale. So this definitely wasn’t my first rodeo!
But this absolutely is the first time I’ve maintained my loss for any significant amount of time. And I’m posting this as a standalone because I’m hell’a proud!!!
I already outlined what I did to lose the weight in last year’s post, so I just wanted to share some quick and dirty tidbits from this past year in particular:
Today, I weighed 139.1 lbs with a trend of 140.9 lbs. 🙂
I maintained a solid trend of 136 lbs the first half of the year. Looking back, I’m kind of impressed just how tightly I ran that ship, haha. I know exactly how I did it too. My TDEE is 1700-1800 (yeah, despite being 5’8″…) and I was eating 1500 on weekdays and 2000 on weekends, which worked super well for me!
I tried eating intuitively August through December. If you check out the chart I linked above you can, uh, see how that went… lol. I still don’t have normal, reliable hunger or satiety cues and I have the appetite of a much, much larger person, so I’m tracking religiously on MFP again (today’s my 927th).
On that note, I permitted myself to gain a few lbs, shifting my goal posts from 135 lbs to 140 lbs because I was mentally beating myself up anytime I crossed into the 140s. It wasn’t healthy. Getting rid of that threshold did wonders for me. I try to keep my trend within a 137.5-142.5 lbs range per TrendWeight.
I’m actually currently cutting. I’ve been eating at a small deficit since the day after Christmas to shed some excess holiday weight gain. It’s been a crawl. I cannot wait to get back to proper maintenance, at which point I intend to continue tracking just as carefully and return to my 1500/2000 weekday/end split.
I’m pretty active, taking almost daily walks (often twice) and bouncing/dancing on my mini trampoline when the weather’s crappy. I can’t wait for summer so I can add outdoor cycling and running back into the mix! I try to get 30+ exercise minutes and 400 active calories 6/7 days a week per my Apple Watch.
Here’s a bathroom mirror selfie I took yesterday. Hiii! I only recently started wearing hoodies that actually fit me. 😀
I think that covers it, though AMA! 🙂
Thank you, as always, to this community — special shout-out to the Monday Maintenance frequent fliers — for always being an excellent support system! I couldn’t have done it without this place.
Love ya, r/loseit.
